Bendix's warehouse refurbishment has increased storage capacity by 8 per cent.

The six-month project introduces additional racking to the location while also improving ergonomic handling for the warehousing team thanks to new vacuum lifters. Product flow dynamics have also been optimised saving order processing time, and increasing Bendix’s capability to meet customer needs, especially the ‘endless aisle’ offer across the Bendix range.

New vacuum lifters have improved ergonomic handling of stock for the warehousing team.

Additionally, the upgraded facility allows Bendix to consolidate its stock holdings at a single location – previously products such as the popular Ultimate 4WD™ Brake Upgrade Kits were compiled at another site, so the supply chain is now shorter. Further aiding efficiency is improved traffic management for transport drivers and pedestrians entering the warehouse.

The warehouse upgrade has allowed all stock (including the pictured Ultimate 4WD™ Brake Upgrade Kits) to be consolidated at a single location.

In redeveloping the facility, Bendix called on the expertise of leading supply chain solutions company, TMX Global, and leveraged 3D virtual reality technology that let Bendix team members review, relay out and redesign the warehouse area in the Metaverse and in real time. This capability allowed project stakeholders to experience the warehouse layout in a virtual landscape and assess functionality before committing to a final physical build.

The refurbishment also extended to staff offices and amenities.

Along with improving the efficiency at which the warehouse operates, the project also refurbished staff amenities including office spaces, meeting room and tea rooms, while increasing natural light flow into the space.
