After a stint in the pits to repair significant damage on the Bendix Racing Camaro caused by the pile-up in Qualifying, Race 21 would see a huge effort from Nick, climbing seven spots up from his starting place to a P12 race finish.

Sunday would kick away with Race 22 Qualifying with Nick claiming a P15 start on the grid for the Gold Coast finale thanks to a best time of 1m10.544s in the session. The green lights would go out on Race 22 later in the afternoon and begin with even more misfortune for Bendix Racing. Nick Percat would find himself caught in another pile-up with a dozen other cars in the opening stages of the race with the Bendix Racing Camaro again seeing significant damage.

After an excursion to the pits for repairs, Nick would head back out and ultimately finish the weekend with a P22 race result, the fastest lap of the race, and a new Gold Coast lap record. Nick had the following to say to cap off his Sunday efforts.

Nick Percat: “I had a good start and made up a few positions which was good. Got down to Turn 11 and it’s really the story of our weekend — there were some crashed cars already there and nowhere to go — frustrating. Obviously damaged the front splitter, but the boys did a good job to get the Car #4’s on there and from there it added salt to the wound because the car was really fast. We came away with the fastest lap of the race and a lap record — I wouldn’t say I was aiming for that, I was just driving around. A bit frustrating that probably a top five result has gone wanting. That’s motorsport, we’ll go to Adelaide for the last one and try and have a good one there.”

The 2024 Supercars Championship continues next month when the series heads to South Australia for the 2024 VAILO Adelaide 500, running from November 14th – 17th.
